From an internet station in Newark to the largest Jamaican-owned radio network in America
RoadBlock Radio was founded in 2001 in Newark, New Jersey as an internet radio station. Its roots run through G City Promotions, one of the Northeast’s leading Caribbean promoters, whose events such as NJ Reggae Fest and Sounds Of Greatness brought Beres Hammond, Shabba Ranks, Ninja Man, Machel Montano, Alison Hinds, Buju Banton, Beenie Man, Bounty Killa, Sizzla, Capleton, Tarrus Riley, Sean Paul, Marcia Griffiths, Chronixx, Sanchez and many more to the stage. Two decades on, RoadBlock Radio is the largest Jamaican-owned radio broadcasting network serving Caribbean audiences across multiple major U.S. markets.
