2 Chainz Chooses Business Over Another Chain

2 Chainz put a business ahead of another expensive chain when he reconsidered his next jewelry purchase.

The rapper told Haute Living he invested the money in a company he already owned.

“So I invested in one of my businesses instead,” he said. “Today, I’d rather own something.”

He didn’t name the business, give a dollar amount or date the decision.

He also described buying his mother a home as more meaningful than jewelry or a car, tying his spending priorities to caring for his family.

Esco was one venture that fit his taste, he said, pointing to its food, music and atmosphere.

In his December 2024 business recap, he celebrated Candyland, his Atlanta nightlife spot, and Pizza Fedora, his vegan pizza brand. He also discussed giving former Zesto’s locations a new use.

One earlier expansion came through Smoothie King. The company announced on June 25, 2024, that he and longtime franchisee Philip Jones were opening a kiosk inside Atlanta’s State Farm Arena. The launch was set for June 26.

A company update the following month confirmed that the location had opened in June. The kiosk added a concert and live-event venue to a market where the chain already had more than 80 stores.

At the time, 2 Chainz linked the move to his own habits as a customer and his efforts to make healthier choices.

“I visit Smoothie King at least twice a week, so this partnership has been a long time coming,” he said in that announcement.

His memoir, The Voice in My Head Is God, explored the judgment behind his choices. Atria/Black Privilege Publishing released the book on March 3, 2026. He wrote it with Derrick Harriell.

The publisher described a life that began in College Park, Georgia, where his mother raised him as an only child while his father was in prison. The book covered early help from Ludacris and his relationship with Lil Wayne among the key moments in his career.

It also dealt with addiction and the role faith and discipline played in his recovery. Trusting his own judgment was a central theme of the account, which examined the setbacks as well as the success.

His work had also stretched beyond recording into film and television. His business interests also included real estate, cannabis, food and fashion, according to the publisher.
