The Jamaica 4-H Clubs is to invest approximately $20 million in four model gardens at infant schools in western Jamaica, with support from the CHASE Fund, as part of an effort to cultivate an interest in agriculture from an early age. While he did not disclose when the project will begin, Colin Virgo, chairman of the Jamaica 4-H Clubs, said the ‘Gardens of Excellence’ initiative will target communities among those hardest hit by Hurricane Melissa.
