450 toasts international performances, readies for Barclays Center

Following major performances in the Caribbean and Europe, dancehall artiste 450 is preparing for another career milestone at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, this November. The Jamaican recently took the stage at the Caribbean Music Awards (CMAs) in Trinidad, marking his first time attending the awards ceremony despite having previously secured a CMA win in 2024. “The CMAs was a great experience for me. Even though I won an award back in 2024, this was actually my first time attending, so being able to perform on that stage made it even more special. It was a great feeling being there and sharing that moment with the team,” 450 said. The appearance added to a strong year of live performances for the artiste, who earlier performed at the Sun Splash Reggae Festival in Den Haag, Netherlands. The reception provided another indication of the reach his music has developed beyond Jamaica and the wider Caribbean. “I was genuinely taken aback by the reception. The fans really showed out, and it was just a joy to hear them singing along and vibing with me. It definitely showed me that the music is reaching people in Europe in a real way, and mi appreciate that,” he shared. For 450, performing in different territories has also highlighted the global connection audiences continue to have with Jamaican music. “I think the energy is different, but the connection is still the same. In the Caribbean, people grow up around reggae and dancehall, so there’s already that understanding of the music and the culture. But it’s always a good feeling seeing how far the music can travel,” he said. His next major performance will take him to Brooklyn, where he is set to perform at Barclays Center in November. The arena appearance represents another significant step in his growing résumé as a live performer. “It really shows the growth. Even though we do this for the love, it’s a good feeling when your passion gets recognized and you get opportunities like this. Barclays is a big stage, so mi definitely grateful for the opportunity and looking forward to it,” 450 said. While his 2026 performances have taken him from the Netherlands to Trinidad and now New York, the artiste is measured about describing the run as the beginning of a new phase in his career. “I’m not sure if I would call it a new phase just yet, but I’m definitely grateful for the journey so far. The team and I are focused, everything is being put in place, and we’re ready to take it to the next level,” he explained. Europe remains an important market in those plans. Having already performed in London and the Netherlands, 450 is looking to expand his presence across the continent as reggae and dancehall continue to command audiences internationally. “I’ve done London and the Netherlands, but I definitely want to do more in Europe. I think reggae and dancehall is so big there, and I just look forward to being a part of that movement even more,” he said.
