50 Cent Mocks Rick Ross’ Prison-Guard Past After Son Reports Gun Attack

50 Cent used news of a reported gun attack on Rick Ross’ son to take a fresh shot at his old foe’s past as a prison guard.
The rapper shared a post about William Roberts III, who told police a man hit him in the head with a gun. He had also told police the man threatened to kill him. Rather than focus on the suspect, 50 took aim at Ross and the call for help.
“Damn got the man arrested,” he wrote, then asked, “why he didn’t just call his dad. He probably called the cops for him. LOL”

The line revived 50’s long-running joke about Ross’ former job.
Ross worked as a prison guard long before he made his name in rap. He held the job for a year and a half. When a photo from that part of his life came to light, Ross claimed it was fake. The Smoking Gun then published state records in 2008 that proved he had worked as a correctional officer.
50 soon made the job a key part of their feud. In 2009, Ross took shots at him on “Mafia Music,” and 50 hit back with “Officer Ricky (Go Head, Try Me).” He also used a string of “Officer Ricky” cartoons to mock Ross, so the new post drew on a joke he had been making for years.
The case behind the new post stemmed from an alleged attack in Daytona Beach on October 11. William told police he had been talking to a woman on a sidewalk. A man then drove up and aimed a gun at him.
“I don’t care who your daddy is, I’ll kill you right here,” the man said, WFTV reported, citing the police report.
Police noted slight swelling on the right side of William’s head. He told them he did not need care for his injuries. He later picked a suspect from a photo lineup, though a check of city cameras did not turn up video of the attack.
WKMG reported that police arrested a suspect on charges of aggravated assault and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
