50 Cent Wins Street Fighter Co-Star’s Praise For Being Cool On Set

50 Cent gladly posed for photos and appeared in videos for Vidyut Jammwal’s friends while the two worked on Street Fighter, Jammwal says.

The actor told the Hindustan Times in an interview that his friends had asked him to get photos and videos with members of the cast. He passed along their requests and said 50 Cent, Jason Momoa, Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns were all happy to help.

“For me to know there’s a 50 Cent, there’s a Jason Momoa, there’s a Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, like I knew my friends will be happy because I’m going to go and click pictures and make videos and I will request them and they will do it gladly, which they did. So, for me, the excitement was, like people say, you’re going, take this, take that. I want a video with him. I want him to do this. So, and gladly they all did it,” Jammwal gushed.

Jammwal said he spent about 40 to 45 days with the group and enjoyed their readings together. He also liked how comfortable his co-stars seemed with themselves.

Jammwal said, “Nobody’s insecure, nobody’s really trying to know what’s happening in somebody else’s life.”

The film marks Jammwal’s Hollywood debut as Dhalsim and casts 50 Cent as Balrog, the boxer from the Capcom games. For 50 Cent, playing the fighter meant a return to a sport he first took up as a kid.

He previously said he trained three times a day to get ready for the role. That work helped him reach his target weight for a film packed with fights and action scenes.

Directed by Kitao Sakurai, Street Fighter follows Ryu and Ken as Chun-Li recruits them for a world fighting tournament. A deadly plot behind the contest forces the pair to fight each other and confront their past.

Street Fighter opens in theaters October 16.
