A$AP Rocky is expanding his Fortnite run with a free one-shot manga built around his pirate alter ego, Rocky Rugahand.
Fortnite announced that The Rise of Rocky Rugahand is available to read in full. The short story is a prequel to the game’s current Treasure Hunters season, giving Rocky a bigger role than a standard celebrity skin or music bundle.
“The Rise of Rocky Rugahand, the prequel one-shot manga created with A$AP Rocky is now available in full,” Fortnite said in its announcement.
The manga arrives as Rocky takes over a major piece of the game. Fortnite’s official season guide places the rapper among the first captains leading crews across the new Crossbones Isle. His $.$. Rocky battleship is a location players can board, while his Shock Rocket is one of the season’s featured weapons.
Treasure Hunters launched November 1 with an 80-player island and a rotating lineup of captains. Rocky and the One Piece crew opened the season, with Lil Uzi Vert, Hatsune Miku and Kasane Teto scheduled to follow. Each captain brings a crew, a location and new items into the game.
Rocky’s item-shop rollout adds another layer. Fortnite lists the music-reactive Rocky Rugahand outfit alongside the Helicopter Flacko look. The larger A$AP Rocky bundle also includes accessories and emotes connected to the season, while three of his tracks appear in a separate Jam bundle.
The free manga ties those pieces together. It gives fans a prequel to the character now sailing around the island and turns Rocky into part of Fortnite’s story instead of leaving him on the sidelines as a promotional guest.
That approach has become central to Fortnite’s music crossovers. Artists can now appear as characters, control locations and bring music into matches at the same time. Rocky’s rollout stretches across gameplay, cosmetics, music and the new illustrated story.
Fortnite is also using scheduled “Captain Days” to add weapons and characters during the season. The company listed November 8, 12, 15 and 22 for the next drops, with Mastery Mondays and Treasure Hours continuing on Saturdays.
The Rise of Rocky Rugahand is available now through Fortnite’s official site. The current Treasure Hunters season continues through November with more captain arrivals and in-game events scheduled across the month.
