About half of American adults reported using AI-powered chatbots and about 42% of users said they use them to search for information, according to a Pew Research Center survey from earlier this year.

Millions of Americans are turning to AI for election information, but chatbots are getting voting facts wrong and recommending candidates, raising concerns they could influence voters' decisions.
