Anthony Constantino Calls On Trump To Free Diddy After Congressional Win

Anthony Constantino turned his congressional victory speech into an unexpected plea for Sean “Diddy” Combs.

The Republican businessman won New York’s 21st Congressional District after a self-funded campaign in the North Country. WAMC reported that Constantino celebrated at his Sticker Mule factory in Amsterdam, New York, where he spent much of a lengthy speech attacking the press before shifting to Diddy and Hip-Hop.

Constantino told the room that he wanted to bring people, jobs and excitement back to New York. Then he made a direct appeal to President Donald Trump.

“I think President Trump should consider freeing Diddy … a historic New Yorker that did great things for New York State,” Constantino said.

Talking Points Memo reported that the request came near the end of the speech, not as part of a detailed criminal-justice proposal.

Constantino did not explain whether he wanted Trump to issue a pardon or commute the remaining prison term. Either step would require presidential clemency in Diddy’s federal case.

That moment wasn’t Constantino’s only Hip-Hop reference that night.

He also pushed back on people who told him his support for rap music would hurt him in Northern New York. He pointed to his own music, cast the election result as proof that a rapper could reach Congress and then brought Christian rapper Greatness to the stage.

That musical streak was already part of Constantino’s political brand. His campaign website says he recorded Thank You President Trump, an album mixing rap, R&B, country, house and pop.

The project and his pro-Trump lyrics separated him from the usual Republican campaign soundtrack long before Tuesday’s result.

Diddy is serving a 50-month federal sentence after a jury convicted him in July 2025 on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.

Jurors acquitted him of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking. A federal judge also imposed five years of supervised release and a $500,000 fine.

His projected release date has shifted repeatedly as his legal team continues to challenge the conviction and sentence.

AllHipHop verified Monday that federal records listed February 6, 2028, as the latest projection, although prison calculations can change.

Constantino’s remarks now put a member of the incoming Congress publicly behind clemency for one of Hip-Hop’s most controversial figures. Trump has not announced any action in Diddy’s case, and Constantino offered no timeline for turning the election-night line into a formal request.
