Armani Caesar Says Pregnancy Reveal Cost Her 50,000 Followers

Armani Caesar said she lost about 50,000 followers after revealing her pregnancy, even as motherhood pushed her to rethink what she wanted to say in her music.

The Buffalo rapper recalled the reaction on an episode of Angela Yee’s “Lip Service”, released October 27.

“My phone was going crazy. The comments was in shambles. I lost like 50,000 followers,” she said.

She described her following as mostly male. But her own priorities had shifted toward her daughter and the example she wanted to set. Being pretty or being a boss wasn’t all she wanted her child to value. Integrity mattered, too, and she wanted that growth to show up in her songs.

On “Lip Service,” Caesar said working with a small team while juggling music, touring and her boutique had left her burned out. She also described a more personal approach to her next project, including writing about postpartum struggles and problems in her private life.

Her public image had long included both rap and fashion. In a 2022 SHEEN interview, she explained that her boutique, Armani’s Closet, grew from the outfits and photos she was already sharing. Turning that interest into a business gave her another job to manage alongside recording.

The workload was already a topic then. Asked how she handled both businesses, she said she was still learning to divide her time and had brought in more help.

By that point, her music career had taken her to Coachella, Rolling Loud, Day N Vegas and Made in America. She told SHEEN those performances were also her first visits to the festivals, putting her onstage at events she had never attended as a fan.

That run followed her 2020 signing to Griselda, where she became the label’s first female rapper. Westside Gunn welcomed a fellow Buffalo artist whose connection to the crew went back more than a decade.

She released The Liz in 2020, followed by The Liz 2 in 2022. The 17-track follow-up included Westside Gunn, Benny The Butcher and Conway The Machine, plus Kodak Black on “Diana.” She had reached out to Kodak herself through a direct message to set up their collaboration.
