Ashanti Wants Everyone On Her Team To Make At Least $5 Million

Ashanti has put a number on the success she wants to share with the people around her.
A Sydney Morning Herald headline published November 4 quoted the R&B star saying, “I want to make everyone on my team at least five million dollars.”
The goal is bigger than a personal payday. It comes as Ashanti works to gain more control over the music that built her career and turns ownership into a public part of her next chapter.
Ashanti recently told The Guardian that she is re-recording her self-titled debut album, Ashanti. “Owning my masters is really important to me,” she said.
That focus was already clear in June. Ashanti described becoming more selective about brand deals, film roles and business ventures. She wants work that fits her values and long-term plans, with more control behind the scenes.
Cameras will follow that work on Season 2 of “Nelly & Ashanti: We Belong Together.”
Peacock said the new season will focus on the couple’s family, careers and legacy. It will also cover Ashanti’s effort to control her master recordings.
“It is so important to show women empowerment and understanding the power of ownership is major,” Ashanti said in the official trailer.
AllHipHop previously reported that the season will show Ashanti re-recording her debut, making new music and moving between St. Louis and New York City. She is doing that work while raising her son, playing live shows and staying close to the people who keep her grounded.
Ashanti did not name everyone covered by the five-million-dollar goal. The statement still draws a clear line between her own business plans and the people helping her carry them out. The number is ambitious, but the logic is clear: control the work, keep its value close and share the gains.
Peacock said the series will show Ashanti and Nelly balancing tours, growing businesses and raising their son, Kareem, who they call KK. Her team goal now sits inside a wider plan built on family, ownership and long-term success.
Season 2 of “Nelly & Ashanti: We Belong Together” premieres November 19 on Peacock.
