Be’n Original Enters Crime Fiction With Debut Novel Power Kingdom

Be’n Original, a former writer for AllHipHop, has evolved from covering culture to exploring criminal power in Power Kingdom, introducing his debut in fictional writing.
The veteran journalist and Urban Magazine publisher announced the urban crime thriller bringing his vast experience in entertainment media to a story about an expanding criminal empire.
For a writer whose bylines have appeared in AllHipHop, XXL, The Source, Vibe, King and Yahoo!, the move puts a different kind of storytelling at the center of his work. Instead of reporting on public figures and cultural developments, Be’n Original is introducing fictional characters whose personal relationships could threaten their survival.
Power Kingdom unfolds within a kingdom built on fear. According to the announcement, its premise draws inspiration from a popular colloquialism for Poughkeepsie, New York. The release does not identify that expression or provide further details about how the city informs the narrative.
The saga follows a growing criminal operation and a brotherhood operating in secrecy. The dangerous territory between them becomes a serious testing ground for loyalty as concealed motives emerge and relationships become liabilities.
The novel asks its characters to weigh love, honor, revenge and survival against one another. Closeness carries consequences in this world, where knowing someone’s secrets can create an advantage or expose a weakness. Friendship offers no guarantee of protection.
That focus gives the thriller a conflict beyond the expansion of a criminal enterprise. The announcement positions personal vulnerability as a central threat to authority, with those who command through intimidation facing the possibility that their control can collapse.
Be’n Original’s professional background includes journalism, publishing and creative direction.
The release is only the beginning and more on central characters are expected to be revealed.
The release date has not been announced yet.
