Benzino is making it clear that involving a child in adult financial disputes crosses a serious line, and he’s not staying quiet about what went down between Joseline and Bonnie Bella.
The music executive stepped into the conversation after Joseline had a public discussion with their 10-year-old daughter about money and Stevie J, and Benzino’s response shows exactly how frustrated he is with the whole situation.
“I think Bonnie Bella is like 10 years old. I think that’s way too young,” Benzino said. “I think the conversation was inappropriate for a young girl that age.”
His concern isn’t just about bad parenting in the moment, though.
He’s pointing to a bigger problem he sees happening in communities where mothers create narratives about fathers not providing support, and then fill their kids’ heads with that story.
“What I have a problem with when Joseline made that post is her talking about how Stevie doesn’t give them any money. You know, this is a real problem in our community where the mother paints this narrative of the father because the father’s not with the mother anymore. And, you know, she’s filling Bonnie Bella’s head up with this narrative that Stevie doesn’t give money.”
According to Benzino, if you’re going to tell the story, tell the whole thing. That means acknowledging how Stevie J literally built Joseline’s entire career from the ground up.
The tension between these three goes way back to their controversial time on Love and Hip Hop Atlanta, where Benzino and Stevie J went from close friends to bitter enemies, with Joseline caught in the middle of the drama.
Before Stevie came into the picture, Benzino argues that nobody in the industry took Joseline seriously as an artist or entertainer.
“If you are going to tell the story, tell the whole story, you know, tell the story how probably nobody no man will ever took you serious about your music about your career. A lot of guys were just using you for your body and for the services that what you could do with them,” Zino said.
Benzino also touched on what he sees as a double standard in how public figures get treated when they speak up. He pointed out that Joseline has publicly criticized others without facing the same backlash, but when he addresses her actions, people respond differently.
“I don’t think no mother should be publicly bashing the child’s father with the child present. That ain’t cool, man. I don’t give a what y’all say. I could care less, man. Y’all are traumatized. I knew this topic was going to hurt a lot of females. I get it. I never said Joseline was a bad mother. I’m sure she’s a good mother. But guess what? Stevie is a good father to his child, to his children, too.”
Meanwhile, Joseline has moved on with her life and is now expecting her second child with Ballistic Beats, her husband since 2019. She’s also made bold claims that he is Bonnie Bella’s real father, which has stirred up even more conversation about the whole situation.
