Blue Ivy Carter returned to the stage with her father, Jay-Z, at SoFi Stadium on Friday, October 23, adding another appearance to a performance history that now spans stadium shows with both parents.
Blue Ivy showed off impressive skills, playing piano during “The Story of O.J.” and “Dead Presidents.”
Scarface, John Legend and DJ Khaled were among the night’s guests as Hov ran through a catalog of hits from his 30-year career, including “Izzo (H.O.V.A.),” “Run This Town,” “Hard Knock Life (Ghetto Anthem),” “Dirt off Your Shoulder,” and his New York anthem, “Empire State of Mind.”
The Los Angeles stop was part of Jay-Z’s celebration of 30 years since “Reasonable Doubt.” His two-night SoFi run was scheduled for October 23 and October 24, following anniversary shows in New York, London and Paris.
Blue Ivy had already joined her father at the keys during that run. At the July 10 opening night at Yankee Stadium, she played piano during “Feelin’ It.”
AllHipHop’s coverage of that show described Jay-Z embracing his daughter before she left the stage. Beyoncé also appeared that night, singing on “Can’t Knock the Hustle.”
SoFi itself was familiar ground before her father’s latest concert. Blue Ivy performed there with Beyoncé at the April 28, 2025 opening of the “Cowboy Carter” tour. She danced during “America Has a Problem” and had a solo set to “Déjà Vu.”
Her work with Beyoncé has included a different role: dancing alongside her mother and the rest of the stage crew.
On May 26, 2023, Blue Ivy joined the “Renaissance World Tour” at Stade de France in Saint-Denis, outside Paris. She performed choreography during “My Power” and “Black Parade” and remained onstage for “Savage.” She was 11 at the time.
By Christmas Day 2024, she was part of another major live production. Netflix identified Blue Ivy as a featured dancer in Beyoncé’s halftime show at NRG Stadium in Houston, where the Texans hosted the Baltimore Ravens.
The performance brought songs from “Cowboy Carter” to the field, with Post Malone and Shaboozey also taking part.
AllHipHop’s report on that earlier SoFi show also placed Blue Ivy alongside Beyoncé and her younger sister, Rumi, during “Protector.” That April appearance brought the three onstage together more than a year before Blue Ivy returned to the stadium with Jay-Z.
