Boosie Badazz Denies Son Ray Ray Robbed Anyone, Says Incident Was A Fight

Boosie Badazz denied that his son Ray Ray robbed anyone, describing the Louisiana incident that led to the teenager’s arrest as a fight.

In a social media video shared by LiveBitez on October 30, the rapper defended his son against the robbery allegation. “Nah, my son ain’t rob nobody, bro. My son ain’t got to do that, bro,” he said.

Boosie pointed to Ray Ray’s Rolex and questioned why his son would steal a cheaper watch. That was his explanation for why he believed the robbery accusation did not fit his son.

The Baton Rouge rapper also described the arrests as an attack on his family. He said the devil had been unable to reach him directly and had instead gotten to him through his children.

Ray Ray, whose legal name is Ivy Ray Hatch, was 18 when deputies arrested him on October 22. The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office said a person reported being beaten and robbed in Denham Springs. Deputies had been called to Buffwood Street around 7 P.M. the previous evening.

Authorities booked Hatch on armed robbery, aggravated second-degree battery, possession of a firearm with drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. A judge set bond at $275,500. Hatch posted it and left the Livingston Parish Detention Center the night of his arrest.

The sheriff’s office had not detailed the property reported stolen or the person’s injuries in the initial local report. Deputies also arrested a juvenile, whose name authorities did not release. That suspect was taken to the Florida Parishes Juvenile Detention Center.

Deputies told WBRZ that Antonio Cooley, 19, and Calei Ely, 18, were also arrested in connection with the robbery case.

Boosie had declined to comment when TMZ initially contacted him about the arrest, as AllHipHop previously reported. His new remarks put his own account of the incident in public.

Months earlier, the family had celebrated Ray Ray’s high school graduation. Boosie shared photographs in May and wrote about his pride in being Ray Ray’s father. He wore his son’s picture on a shirt, while Ray Ray posed in green graduation robes. His sister, Poison Ivi, also congratulated him.
