Boosie Badazz‘s 18-year-old son Ivy Ray Hatch was arrested in Louisiana on charges that included armed robbery and aggravated battery.
Authorities took Hatch into custody Thursday, October 22, in Livingston Parish, according to WBRZ. The station cited TMZ’s reporting, which included information from the sheriff’s office.
The reported booking charges were armed robbery, aggravated battery, possession with intent to distribute drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a firearm with drugs.
Hatch was released on bond. WBRZ reported that his name no longer appeared on the Livingston Parish Jail roster Friday.
The sheriff’s office declined to discuss the incident that led to the arrest. Boosie also declined to comment to TMZ.
The news followed months of separate legal trouble for the Baton Rouge rapper.
On January 9, Judge Cathy Ann Bencivengo sentenced Boosie to three years of supervised release, 300 hours of community service and a $50,000 fine in his federal gun case. Boosie avoided the two-year prison term prosecutors wanted.
He had pleaded guilty to possessing a firearm as a convicted felon.
The case stemmed from a May 6, 2023, arrest in San Diego. According to federal prosecutors, police spotted a gun in Boosie’s waistband during an Instagram Live video as he appeared to film a music video. Officers later found a loaded Glock 19 in the backseat during a traffic stop.
His supervision came under scrutiny in June, when the probation office sought an 18-month prison term over claims that he traveled to Houston for a show without approval and tested positive for marijuana in January.
Boosie pushed back, saying his later drug tests were clean and his probation officer found an overlooked email approving the Houston trip.
He also faced a separate criminal case over a May 24 incident at Houston’s Dome Nightclub. Boosie was arrested in June on an aggravated assault charge with an $85,000 bond. He was arraigned in Harris County on September 16, according to DancehallMag.
Security guard Edward Iglehart II also sued Boosie for assault, battery and defamation, alleging the rapper struck him in the head with a glass hookah.
Boosie’s attorney, Carl Moore, said his client was defending a female relative and trying to calm the situation.
