Caitlin Clark Gets Dick’s & Foot Locker Deal

Caitlin Clark has become the first athlete signed as a brand partner by both Dick’s Sporting Goods and Foot Locker.

The Indiana Fever guard agreed to an exclusive multiyear deal with the two retailers. Dick’s announced the partnership after completing its acquisition of Foot Locker last year, making Clark the first athlete to hold the role across the combined business.

“Being the first ever brand partner for both them and Foot Locker is a really special full-circle moment,” Clark said.

The deal goes far beyond a single ad. Dick’s and Foot Locker plan to feature Clark in national and global campaigns. They will also build promotions around her signature footwear, apparel and other products.

Clark is expected to appear in retail and digital experiences, fan events and community programs. Financial terms were not disclosed.

At the New York event introducing the partnership, Clark described the goal broadly. “Our vision is to connect with the greatest amount of people that we possibly can,” she said.

The timing puts the agreement next to Clark’s biggest product launch yet. Nike released her first signature basketball shoe, the Caitlin 1, worldwide on October 1. The shoe is part of an 18-piece collection that also includes performance apparel and sportswear.

Nike built the shoe around Clark’s speed, range and quick release. Clark worked closely on the design, which includes her double-Swoosh logo, No. 22 details and nods to the driveway court where she learned the game.

“I never thought I would have my own signature shoe,” Clark said when Nike unveiled the collection.

The new retail deal gives Clark two large storefront networks for that growing line. It also puts her at the center of basketball and sneaker marketing for Dick’s and Foot Locker, from product drops to fan programs.

The companies are treating her as a partner, not only a paid face. That means Clark can help shape how her products reach young players and sneaker buyers. It also gives the retailers a clear star for campaigns that connect pro basketball, youth sports and streetwear.

Clark’s reach has already changed the business around women’s basketball. This partnership shows the retailers are betting that her audience will follow her from the court to stores around the world.
