Cardi B Lands Billboard Canada’s First Global Woman Of The Year Award

Cardi B will receive Billboard Canada’s first Global Woman of the Year award at its Women In Music event in Toronto on November 24.

The organizer announced her selection Friday, October 16. She will accept the honor at Rebel, six years after she won Billboard’s U.S. Woman of the Year title. The announcement credits her with 46 songs on the Canadian Hot 100, including eight top 10 hits.

The nod also follows a strong year on the road. Pollstar’s midyear report ranked Cardi seventh among the world’s top touring acts, with a $72.1 million gross from her Little Miss Drama Tour.

That run took her through North American arenas from February through April. By the tour’s halfway point, she had sold 209,622 tickets across its first 17 shows and grossed more than $32 million.

She toured behind her second album, Am I the Drama?, which came out in September 2025. The new award brings her back to Canada after that arena run included stops in Vancouver, Toronto and Hamilton.

She also sold out two shows at the Forum in Inglewood, a first for a female rapper, her tour promoter said.

Her first Woman of the Year honor came in 2020, when “WAP” with Megan Thee Stallion spent four weeks atop the Hot 100. That December, the ceremony took place virtually during the coronavirus pandemic.

At the 2020 show, she tied the honor to how her work had grown. “I want to be the best I can at anything that I do,” she said. “There’s hope for your dreams.”

That earlier honor recognized her music, live shows, cultural reach and activism throughout the year.

Her first Grammy came in 2019, the year before her first Billboard honor. She became the first solo woman to win Best Rap Album, taking the prize for her debut, Invasion of Privacy. Her career tally now stands at one win and 11 nominations. “Outside” earned her a Best Rap Performance nod in 2026.

The Toronto event will also honor Live Nation Canada’s Melissa Bubb-Clarke as Executive of the Year. Kristy Fletcher of MusiCounts, CARAS and the Juno Awards will receive its Impact Award.

Tickets for the November 24 event are on sale.
