Cardi B told a fan she had no interest in returning to therapy as she vented about people close to her during an Instagram Live.
A viewer asked whether she was seeing a therapist during the October 27 broadcast, prompting a blunt answer about her recent absence from sessions.
“I haven’t seen a therapist in a minute. I don’t want to see a therapist. I want these motherfuckers to die,” she said.
She did not identify anyone in that exchange, which followed her discussion of feeling let down by people she knew personally.
Her answer marked a change from earlier public comments about getting help, including a 2024 account of finding a therapist she liked.
In that Rolling Stone interview, Cardi said she had previously struggled to focus during sessions before deciding to try counseling again.
At the time, she said trying to channel anger or sadness into recording could leave her voice cracking and make melodies harder to sing.
“So I just got a therapist, and I really like her,” Cardi told Rolling Stone.
Reporter Mankaprr Conteh described the therapist calling to check on Cardi during their time together in New York, where she was recording music.
During that interview, Cardi also described trouble finding enough help with her children while she tried to keep up with studio work.
She said the demands at home had become hers to resolve, explaining that an assistant, husband or record label could not solve them.
That same spring, Cardi shared one practical step she had taken on her therapist’s advice when she began learning to drive.
During an April 11, 2024 Instagram Live, she said her counselor wanted her to spend an hour each day on a healthy habit.
She explained that the advice came because work was consuming so much of her life, and she livestreamed her first driving lesson.
She took that lesson in a Rolls-Royce after misplacing her Bentley keys, then asked the instructor to take over when she struggled with reversing.
Near the end of the October 27 livestream, Cardi said she needed to do squats because trying to sleep would leave her thinking about the situation.
She closed the broadcast after discussing exercise, bringing the conversation back to squats before signing off from the livestream.
