Chance The Rapper’s SocialWorks Sets 11-Site Chicago Winter Drive

Chance the Rapper‘s SocialWorks is asking Chicago residents to help stock 11 collection sites with winter supplies for people experiencing homelessness.

The nonprofit’s ninth annual Warmest Winter clothing drive will run from November 2, 2026, through January 10, 2027. Its wish list includes coats, jackets, scarves, gloves, hats, blankets and socks, either new or gently used.

Toys can also be new or gently used. Hygiene products must be new, including soap, deodorant, toothpaste and toothbrushes. Diapers, baby clothes and other baby essentials are welcome. Food and canned goods are not accepted.

“For nine years, Warmest Winter has brought Chicagoans together around a simple belief: everyone deserves warmth, dignity, and care,” SocialWorks said in its announcement.

The effort has drawn support from Chicago students and adult donors. During the previous winter season, Owen Elementary’s Class of 2026 collected eight bags for SocialWorks’ closet, Chicago Public Schools said in a February update.

The Ashburn school’s donations included shoes, cold-weather clothing, hygiene supplies and baby items. It was Owen’s third year taking part in the drive.

Warmest Winter also reaches beyond the annual collection period. SocialWorks describes it as a year-round effort for people facing homelessness and extreme hardship, with volunteer work and outings alongside its clothing drive and holiday event.

Its SocialThreads clothing pantry, run in collaboration with Chicago’s Department of Family and Support Services, offers free clothes, toys and hygiene supplies. People can choose items that fit their own needs and style.

Chance’s winter fundraising goes back more than a decade. In January 2016, AllHipHop covered his Warmest Winter campaign, which raised $100,000 to help provide coats for Chicago residents experiencing homelessness.

This May, the rapper was among those honored at TIME’s philanthropy impact dinner in New York City. He spoke there about the responsibility that comes with that recognition, calling for continued care for children.

“We’re continuing to look out for the children, that we are building a world that’s safe for them,” Chance said at the May 21 event.

For this season’s donations, SocialWorks’ announcement includes a collection-site map. Donors should check building access and holiday hours before heading out.
