Chris Brown & Usher Bring Back Duets After Atlanta Backlash

Chris Brown and Usher performed together Friday in Atlanta, a night after fans complained that their stadium show had left out the duets.

According to TMZ, they performed “Back to Sleep” and the “It Depends” remix. Their separate platforms reportedly matched earlier staging.

The joint performances answered one of the loudest complaints from Thursday’s opening concert at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Attendees had criticized the wait, shortened sets and the absence of songs featuring both headliners. Some called for refunds after leaving the show disappointed.

Those complaints also fed speculation about friction between the singers. Brown responded on his Instagram Story, warning fans not to believe online chatter, without identifying the specific claim he was challenging.

“The R&B Tour” was built around a shared production.

Since the June opening in Denver, Brown and Usher have moved between their solo catalogs and collaborations across nine acts. “New Flame” has been among the joint selections, while Mario, Eric Bellinger and Tank have served as backing vocalists and performed their own music.

Their partnership has also produced major ticket sales. The first 36 reported concerts brought in $284.7 million and more than 1.5 million tickets through October 3. September alone accounted for $77.4 million from 423,000 tickets at 10 shows. July grossed $98.4 million and August added $91.8 million.

That September run made them the first co-headliners to lead the monthly touring chart, as AllHipHop previously reported. The total through early October had already exceeded the $183.9 million earned by Usher’s previous “Past Present Future” tour.

The long run has required adjustments. In October, dates in Cincinnati, Indianapolis and Columbia, South Carolina, were canceled as organizers cited the health and well-being of the touring party and crew.

Atlanta’s five-show booking set a new single-tour-stop mark for Mercedes-Benz Stadium, exceeding the four concerts Beyonce played there on her 2025 “Cowboy Carter” tour. The additional Atlanta date was announced in August as the wider North American tour expanded.

Friday’s concert had originally been set for November 7 before the venue moved it to November 6. After Friday, three Atlanta dates remained on the announced itinerary: November 8, November 10 and November 11.
