Chrisean Rock Responds To Concerns About Son Rooted In Sleazy Adam22 Comments

Chrisean Rock has found herself in an uncomfortable conversation about motherhood that is getting louder, uglier and considerably more serious.

This latest round appears to have exploded after Adam22 appeared on “The Jason Lee Show” and unloaded on Chrisean over her three year old son, Chrisean Jr. Adam alleged the child has fetal alcohol syndrome and accused Chrisean of drinking and using drugs while pregnant. There is one enormous problem with that assertion. No such diagnosis has been publicly confirmed.

Now, Chrisean’s own words are adding fuel to the situation.

During her August appearance on “The Jason Lee Show,” she addressed concerns surrounding her son’s development.

“He’s just going to outgrow all the things he’s having. He don’t have no diagnoses or no illnesses,” she said. “I just think he just needs more time. And I’m on his time. He got therapy. I’m there for him. I’m praying over him. And I don’t accept the things that people putting on him.”

That clip is making the rounds again, including through DJ Akademiks’ social media ecosystem, and the commentary has become brutal. One circulating post characterized the situation as child abuse while asserting that Junior cannot walk, eat or talk.

Hold up.

People can have legitimate concerns about a child without becoming pediatricians through Instagram University. Social media footage cannot establish a medical diagnosis, and neither Adam22 nor the people commenting online can medically diagnose this child from videos.

But Chrisean’s comments leave legitimate questions.

She says Junior has no diagnosis or illness, but also says he receives therapy. Earlier this year, she publicly rejected suggestions that he has a disability and discussed not accepting what a doctor might say if it conflicts with what she believes spiritually.

That is where this stops being ordinary celebrity messiness for me. This is a child.

Adam22 has since doubled down after Chrisean reportedly threatened legal action. He suggested a lawsuit would allow discovery involving records and communications from her pregnancy.

That could turn an internet shouting match into something much more consequential.

Whatever is happening medically with Junior belongs in the hands of qualified professionals, not podcasters, bloggers or social media detectives.

And maybe that is the one thing everybody should be able to agree on.
