Daejon Love’s Fake 49ers Story Heads To Netflix’s “Untold”

Daejon Love’s alleged fake NFL romance scam is headed to Netflix, where a new “Untold” film will focus on the women caught up in the case.

The film is called “Untold: Wide Deceiver,” The Hollywood Reporter revealed. It will be “told firsthand from those affected by the scam,” with a production source saying the women and their experiences will drive the story.

That focus puts the women behind Love’s viral 49ers story in the spotlight. Federal prosecutors say he used claims of football fame, wealth and love to sell them on deals that did not exist.

Federal prosecutors arrested Love and Taylor Jamie Chan at Boise Airport on August 24. The Justice Department said the alleged scheme involved 26 identified victims and about $1.3 million.

Prosecutors charged both men with wire fraud and conspiracy to commit wire fraud.

The feds say Love met most of the women through dating apps. He claimed to be a San Francisco 49ers player or a rich real estate investor. Chan allegedly posed as his financial adviser, joined calls and sent messages that made the deals seem real.

The pitch reached beyond football.

The feds say Love promised some women a future together, showed fake bank balances and urged those without cash to take out loans. Prosecutors said women who asked too many questions or ran out of money were then blocked.

The number of possible victims grew after the arrests. As AllHipHop reported in September, the FBI said 35 more women had come forward. The FBI was still checking those claims at that time. Those women were in addition to the 26 described in the first complaint.

Rachel Anderson said she met Love on Bumble in June 2024, when he introduced himself as John Prince, a Swiss real estate developer. She told FOX 12 Oregon that she sensed something was wrong during their first date.

“It’s just awful, I can’t imagine how those women feel, I really can’t,” Anderson said after his arrest.

Anderson also described backlash for sharing her account and said she hoped speaking up would help others feel safe coming forward.

Propagate and Stardust Frames are behind the film, with North of Now and The Cut. The Way brothers, who created “Untold,” are part of the team. THR says a director and the people who will take part have yet to be named.

Love’s case is also headed toward trial. Oregon’s federal court calendar lists a jury trial for December 15. The charges remain allegations, and both men are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
