Detective Reveals Concert Footage Connecting Kewon White & Yella Beezy Before MO3 Murder

A Dallas police detective testified that concert footage from October 31, 2020, provided the first physical evidence placing defendant Kewon White and rapper Yella Beezy on stage together just days before rapper MO3‘s murder.

Detective Lawrence presented video evidence from a Houston concert at the Ava Center showing White, wearing a tan hoodie and black gloves, performing alongside Yella Beezy.

The detective explained the significance of this connection during testimony on September 2.

“It was the first time that we had physical evidence that could put Kewon White and Yellow Beezy in the same area together, on the stage together…a few days before the murder. You have to have some kind of relationship in order to get on stage. A general member of the public is not allowed to get on the stage while rappers are performing, especially in the middle of the tension going on between Yella Beezy and our victim. It’s very specific about who’s around him,” the detective stated.

The concert footage showed White displaying a GRC chain and flashing jewelry, which prosecutors argue connects him to the gang-affiliated group.

The detective noted that White’s presence on stage with Beezy during an active beef between Yella Beezy and MO3 suggested a coordinated relationship.

Prosecutors allege that Yella Beezy orchestrated the plot to kill MO3, with White serving as the gunman.

The detective’s testimony revealed how investigators coordinated their movements via text and iCloud messages to avoid leaving direct communication trails between Conway and White.

The investigation revealed a timeline of escalating violence. Comedian Roy Lee was assaulted by Yella Beezy and his entourage on August 1, 2017.

Roy Lee was then shot on September 25, 2018 and died from complications on October 13, 2018. Yella Beezy was shot on the Dallas tollway hours after Roy Lee’s death was announced.

The vehicle used in Yella Beezy’s shooting was registered to MO3’s head of security, Shawn Griffin.

MO3 released a song titled “2 Nineteen (HBD ROY LEE)” in February 2019, dedicating it to Roy Lee’s birthday and taking responsibility for Yella Beezy’s shooting.

The song also referenced money being placed on his head, which prosecutors argue set the stage for the murder plot.

During his interview with police, White voluntarily brought up Trap Boy Freddy and Yella Beezy when discussing MO3’s death. The detective noted this was significant because White wasn’t prompted to mention them.

“Whenever I spoke with him during the slow tempo part of the investigation, what I call the friendly phase, no pressure, just having a regular conversation trying to figure out who he is and what his thoughts are on the murder, he voluntarily brought up Trap Boy Freddy and Yella Beezy. And when I asked him why he thought Mo3 was killed, he said he’s been rapping about shooting Yella Beezy. That said a lot to me. I didn’t bring it up. Those words came out of his mouth,” the detective testified.

Kewon White is the first person on trial in the case involving MO3’s killing on November 11, 2020.

Prosecutors allege Yella Beezy orchestrated the plot, with White as the alleged gunman.

The trial continues on Thursday (September 3), with FBI testimony expected on travel records and hotel bookings that prosecutors say show coordination among the conspirators.
