Did DJ Vlad Have Anything To Do With N.O.R.E.’s Legal Woes?

DJ Vlad is all in the chat. And his foe Nore suddenly has a serious legal problem on his hands, and the timing has the Hip-Hop rumor mill looking directly at DJ Vlad. No way or way?

Carmen Bryan, the mother of Nas’ daughter Destiny and a woman whose history with Jay-Z became public years ago, filed a civil lawsuit accusing N.O.R.E. of some heinous crimes. She charges him with sexually assaulting her inside a Manhattan nightclub in 1999. This is like 27 years ago? Bryan alleges N.O.R.E. was intoxicated and sexually violated her without consent before other people intervened.

These are the allegations contained in a lawsuit and have not been proven in court. If there are other people, I wonder if they are going to take the stand? That is a very, very long time ago. Ok…

Now here comes the rumor.

Why now? Not the nearly 30 years ago part.

That question is circulating because N.O.R.E. happens to be locked in an increasingly nasty public battle with DJ Vlad. Vlad has been hammering the Drink Champs host lately, questioning everything from his professionalism to the culture surrounding his enormously successful podcast. N.O.R.E. has fired back, including challenging Vlad to take a lie detector test concerning whether he has ever used the N word.

And then this lawsuit lands.

Coincidence?

Probably. But you know how the streets operate.

I have seen speculation suggesting Vlad somehow helped this information surface or encouraged Bryan to pursue N.O.R.E. Let me stop the train right there. I have seen absolutely no evidence that DJ Vlad had anything whatsoever to do with Carmen Bryan filing this lawsuit.

Nothing.

She was on Vlad TV at a point.

Still, the timing is going to have people talking because Vlad has publicly promised to keep the pressure on N.O.R.E. Their disagreement reportedly began after N.O.R.E. backed away from a VladTV interview after Vlad had appeared on Drink Champs. Since then, gloves have apparently become optional.

The bigger question is what happens to N.O.R.E.’s business.

Drink Champs is an established media brand, so one civil allegation does not automatically mean sponsors, partners or platforms disappear. But sexual assault allegations carry consequences far beyond internet beef.

And if Vlad starts talking about this?

Man.

And this one could get ugly.
