Did Trump Curse New York Giant Jaxson Dart?

Giants fans have a BIG problem on their hands.

Jaxson Dart‘s knee injury is apparently much worse than anybody initially imagined. And here’s the crazy part: the young quarterback reportedly wanted to get back into the game.

The New York Giants played the Los Angeles Rams on Monday night, and things went left almost immediately. On just the seventh offensive snap, Dart dropped back to pass and got sandwiched between Rams defenders Byron Young and Josaiah Stewart. Young hit him high while Stewart came from the other direction, forcing Dart’s left knee inward in a very ugly-looking collision.

Dart immediately grabbed the knee.

Somehow, he eventually got up and walked off under his own power.

Initially, the news sounded relatively encouraging. X-rays were negative, and the early belief was that Dart had suffered an MCL sprain. Giants general manager Joe Schoen reportedly said Dart was “going to be OK,” while head coach John Harbaugh said the suspected MCL diagnosis was “in the neighborhood” of what the team believed had happened.

Dart apparently felt good enough that he was lobbying to get back into the game.

Thankfully, the Giants didn’t let him.

Because now we have a completely different story.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo, Dart’s MRI revealed more damage than originally anticipated. He’s expected to miss an extended period, and there is now a possibility that the injury could end his season. ESPN’s Adam Schefter also reported that season-ending surgery is being considered.

Harbaugh isn’t declaring anything final just yet. He said evaluations are ongoing and that the Giants have not reached a final decision about Dart’s treatment. So let’s make that clear: as of right now, Dart has NOT officially been ruled out for the season.

But this is a massive change from where things stood immediately after the game.

And this brings me back to something I’ve been saying about these young quarterbacks.

Dart is an exciting player. Jayden Daniels is an exciting player. But these guys play football like they have nine lives. Dart rushed for 487 yards and nine touchdowns as a rookie, and that willingness to run through, around and sometimes directly into contact is part of what makes him dangerous. It’s also what scares the hell out of me.

That style of quarterback play comes with a price.

Dart is only in Year 2, and we’re already talking about a potentially season-ending knee injury. That doesn’t mean mobile quarterbacks can’t have long careers, but eventually you’ve got to learn when to get down, when to get out of bounds and when to live for the next play.

Now, let me get to the part that’s going to make some of y’all mad. I am y’all.

The Donald Trump curse!

Relax. I’m having some fun here and keeping it real. There is obviously no evidence that supporting a politician causes somebody to blow out a knee. But I knew Dart messed up a few short months ago.

Back in May, Dart appeared at a political event in Suffern, New York, and introduced President Donald Trump. It wasn’t some Photoshop or AI-generated clip either. Dart actually walked onto the stage, fired up Big Blue Nation and introduced Trump to the crowd. Trump responded by calling Dart a potential future Hall of Famer. I hated how he said “What’s up, what’s up, what’s up?” ICK.

The appearance became a story inside the Giants locker room. Teammate Abdul Carter publicly questioned it before he and Dart talked privately, and the Giants later held a team meeting to address the situation and move forward.

A knee injury that could potentially wipe out his sophomore season so soon in the season?

Coincidence?

YES? NO?

The “Trump curse” conversation is absolutely going to find this one.

I’m not saying a curse did anything to Jaxson Dart, I am also not saying it is not true.

The Giants need their young quarterback healthy. Their entire future is tied to him, and Monday night gave everybody a frightening reminder of how quickly an NFL season can change.
