Diddy’s Federal Release Date Changes For Eighth Time

Diddy has another date circled for freedom after federal prison records moved his projected release to January 21, 2028.

The new date cuts another 15 days from the February 5 projection AllHipHop reported earlier this month for the Bad Boy founder.

Federal Bureau of Prisons records reviewed Tuesday show Sean Combs, inmate 37452-054, remains housed at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey.

Page Six first reported the latest move, which continues a yearlong run of changes to Diddy’s expected exit from federal custody.

The calendar has shifted at least eight times since his October 2025 sentencing, based on Bureau of Prisons snapshots reported by multiple outlets.

His first widely reported projection was May 8, 2028, before officials pushed the date backward to June 4, 2028.

It then moved forward to April 25, 2028, and again to April 15, giving Diddy progressively more time off the original calculation.

By June, federal records listed February 23, 2028, followed by January 24 after another adjustment surfaced in late July.

That January date did not last, because the projection moved backward to February 20 following reports of Diddy’s prison fight and temporary isolation.

The Bureau then changed the date to February 5 in early September before Tuesday’s newest adjustment moved freedom forward to January 21.

The sequence means Diddy’s public release projection has changed eight times after the first May 8 date, although federal officials have not explained every adjustment.

A Bureau of Prisons spokesperson previously said, “For privacy, safety, and security reasons, we do not discuss the conditions of confinement for any individual, including release plans.”

His attorneys are separately challenging his conviction and sentence on appeal, so the Bureau’s projected date is not the only possible route out.

At sentencing, Diddy told the Manhattan federal court, “I’ve been humbled and broken to my core,” before Judge Arun Subramanian imposed punishment.

Diddy is imprisoned because a jury convicted him of two Mann Act counts for transportation to engage in prostitution after acquitting him of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking.

Subramanian sentenced Diddy to 50 months in federal prison, five years of supervised release and a $500,000 fine, with credit for time already served.
