Doja Cat Gives Fan A Warning Over Full-Body Concert Prep

Doja Cat answered a fan’s full-body grooming pledge with one clear instruction: be careful.

The rapper weighed in on X after a fan said they planned to use Nair and shave their whole body for her. The account added that Ariana was the only other person who had inspired that level of preparation, then asked Doja to notice them that night.

Doja did notice. She quoted the post and wrote, “PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN USING NAIR,” followed by a heart emoji and “thank you!!!!”

The fan quickly replied that they were excited to see her and offered reassurance: “i was careful, trust !!”

Nair’s safety guidance carries its own warning: “Irritation or allergic reaction may occur with some people, even if they’ve used it before without adverse effects in the past.” The company calls for a fresh patch test before each use, followed by a 24-hour wait. The company also says each product should be used only on the body areas its packaging specifies.

Doja had addressed fans and appearance in a November 2022 Dazed cover interview. She said she liked taking a conventional idea of beauty and changing it, with personal happiness as her measure.

“I want my fans to learn they don’t have to be like anyone else and the thing they want is already there.”

Her own decision to shave her head had brought pushback from friends and family. She had grown tired of the stress of constantly changing wigs and hairstyles, according to Dazed. But she told the magazine she had never felt more beautiful, and said she felt better wearing less makeup.

That conversation also covered the risks of responding to people online. Doja said she sometimes reacted quickly, enjoyed snapping back and then regretted it when the reaction grew much larger. She described trying looks for fun, even as others interpreted those choices as signs that something was wrong.

The exchange happened Tuesday, the same day Doja’s “Tour Ma Vie World Tour” had a scheduled stop at Sacramento’s Golden 1 Center.

Doja’s next scheduled tour date is October 22 at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California.
