Doja Cat Paints Dallas Blue After Democratic Midterm Sweep

Doja Cat gave “Paint The Town Red” a political rewrite during her Dallas concert, changing the hit’s closing line to celebrate the Democratic Party’s midterm victories.

As the song reached its final bars Wednesday night, Doja delivered the altered lyric: “I don’t care, I paint the town BLUE!” Video of the moment at American Airlines Center quickly spread online.

The change was brief, but it was clear.

Doja did not turn the show into a campaign speech or make a broader endorsement from the stage.

She used one of her biggest records to acknowledge an election result that had already become a major cultural conversation.

Democrats regained control of both the House and Senate in the midterm elections, prompting reactions from entertainers across music, film and television.

Doja’s response came in Texas, where the Dallas stop landed one night after the vote.

The November 4 concert was part of her Tour Ma Vie World Tour, with Latto billed as the special guest. The run supports Doja’s fifth studio album, Vie, and continues through San Antonio on November 6 and Houston on November 7 before moving east.

Live Nation announced the North American dates in September 2025, when Vie arrived. The North American leg began October 1 in Detroit and is scheduled to close December 1 at Madison Square Garden in New York, making the Dallas performance one stop in Doja’s largest international headlining run.

The Dallas moment also arrived during a revealing stretch for Doja.

In August, she spoke openly about a past cocaine problem while discussing her mental health. In October, she brought Rico Nasty out during her Los Angeles birthday show for a surprise “Tia Tamera” reunion.

Those appearances followed her May disclosure that she was considering a three-year break from music once the tour ends.

She said the time away could include family plans and a return to visual art.

For now, the tour is still moving. Dallas got a one-line political detour before Doja returned to the show, leaving the audience with a version of “Paint The Town Red” that belonged to that night.
