Donald Trump Blasted Bill Maher As A “Complete And Total Loser” After Friendly White House Dinner

Donald Trump turned a seemingly cordial White House dinner with Bill Maher into a bitter public feud Sunday after the HBO comedian praised the president’s behavior but continued criticizing his politics.

The president unleashed a sprawling attack on Truth Social on Oct. 25, calling Maher a “COMPLETE AND TOTAL LOSER” and accusing him of dishonesty, hypocrisy and desperately seeking his approval.

The confrontation followed their second White House dinner on Oct. 15, which also included Stephen A. Smith and Kid Rock. This fallout was crazy. Let’s stay focused on the men at hand.

The remarkable reversal came after Trump initially described the gathering favorably. Maher subsequently defended his decision to meet privately with the president during Friday’s episode of Real Time with Bill Maher.

Maher said the conversation covered several contentious political matters and acknowledged that Trump remained composed throughout their exchanges. He also continued making jokes about the president’s approval ratings and political standing.

Apparently, the compliments weren’t enough. LOL!

Trump devoted more than 1,300 words to attacking Maher, challenging his description of the dinner and questioning the comedian’s motives. This was the longest rant in history. It was crazy long.

“I learned nothing, and felt it was a waste of time,” Trump declared.

The president also accused Maher of being intoxicated during his White House visit, allegations that have not been independently substantiated.

One particularly personal accusation involved marijuana use. Trump called Maher a “major POTHEAD” and criticized his appearance.

The president’s grievances extended to Maher’s television program, which he repeatedly characterized as poorly rated. He even questioned whether the laughter heard during the comedian’s performances was genuine.

Trump also defended his own political popularity, citing polling figures his op claimed demonstrated overwhelming Republican support. Trump’s view does not align with reality.

The dispute included White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, whose appearance on Maher’s program drew additional criticism from the president. Trump accused the host of treating her unfairly.

Trump claimed Maher had repeatedly tried meeting via entertainment associate Chuck LaBella and suggested the comedian wanted him to appear on HBO with him. Maher previously offered a different account, saying Trump initiated their latest meeting.

The public beef was hilarious to people like me since we’ve noted a stark change in Maher over the last 10 or so years. He’s shape-shifted into something leaning into the Right, claiming Left. He objected to Trump’s policies and yet offered an olive branch, it seemed.

Kid Rock helped arrange their first meeting in 2025. The second gathering appeared to offer another opportunity for two ideological ops to engage personally. Yeah, that worked well.

Trump has effectively closed the door on future conversations.

“Bill: Don’t call anymore. It’s useless,” he wrote.
