Drake Denies Being A Professional Trick With Eloquent Explanation

Drake just made it clear that spending money on women isn’t about getting something in return, and he’s got a whole philosophy to back it up.
After Victoria Monet jokingly called him a “trickster” and “trick-or-treat master,” during an interview, the Toronto rapper responded with a statement that basically said generosity is its own reward.
He explained that “there’s a return on investment in your soul for doing things for people who you feel deserve it,” and that once you’ve experienced enough joy from material things for yourself, the only way forward is seeing that same joy on other people’s faces.
“Whether you feel that way in the moment and they prove otherwise over time or it’s a gesture to acknowledge consistent love and loyalty the difference is there isn’t an expectation on the other side. It’s self awareness that you have been blessed with an obscene amount of money and joy is the emotion that excites you the most,” the rapper said in a rambling statement.
“So once you have experienced enough joy from material things for yourself sometimes the only way is to see the joy on faces after unexpected gestures for others,” Drake said.
The whole “trick” label exists because Drake’s been known for years to show up with gifts that make headlines.
Back in August at his Strong Women, Stronger Drinks event at Casa Loma in Toronto, he handed out $50,000 to ten women and threw in luxury vehicles like G-Wagons and BMWs.
That’s just one example of how he moves.
He’s also been generous with collaborators like Sexyy Red and influencer Pinkachyu, who won his viral 20-v-1 dating competition on Kick and walked away with a house promise for her mother plus a private sushi date at the same Toronto mansion.
He also distinguished between what he does and actual transactional exchanges.
“Transactional exchanges with the expectation of intimacy are a different frequency,” Drake added.
The distinction matters to him because he’s been trying to reframe how people understand his generosity.
It’s not about buying access or favors, he’s saying. It’s about having the means to create moments that matter for people he respects.
The internet had plenty to say about Drake’s response, with fans weighing in on social media with hilarious takes about whether his explanation actually settled the debate or just proved the point even more.
Some people were convinced by his soul investment theory, while others weren’t buying it at all.
“This 🥷 just said He a Trick In the Most Professional way Ever,” one commenter joked. Another said, “He’s wealthy enough to gift others, and that’s why he will always be my favorite artist. Also why he will always be blessed and protected . Imagine the stuff he does for people behind closed doors.”
Either way, Drake’s made his case, and now it’s up to everyone else to decide if generosity without strings attached is actually possible when you’re one of the biggest rappers in the world.
Drake’s August livestream with BenDaDonnn also included him addressing the criticism directly and explaining his philosophy on giving
