Drake Reveals Self-Funded FOMO Film Is A Blueprint For Living Without Regret

Drake has finally opened up about FOMO, calling his self-financed film a surreal summer story built to push people into living.

The Drake project will arrive September 15 after weeks of guarded promotion and a revealing statement posted Monday, September 14.

“SEPT 15th at 9PM a not so short film live on YOUTUBE SPOTIFY APPLE,” Drake wrote.

“This is self funded Surrealism A story about making the absolute most of it all in one Summer,” he explained.

Drake also tied the project’s production to his inner circle and kept the credit deliberately tight: “Credit to nobody but the members.”

The preview shows Drake racing across open water in a neon-green speedboat while a woman frames FOMO around two possible lives.

“What if I told you there were two versions of your life? In one, you avoid risk and withhold love. You feel like you’ve gone missing from yourself. You look for something you can’t find. In the other version of your life, you find it.”

“Here’s some life advice before you watch Nobody is coming to save you You must use each day to decipher who you love and trust and march forward with them,” Drake said.

He continued, “hope this serves as motivation to make that call, take that trip, drop that Song, open that shop, see your parents, leave that relationship or stay in it forever, spend the bread, get some more etc.”

AllHipHop previously reported that Drake initially announced a September 15 YouTube event without revealing whether FOMO was music, film or a tour.

The campaign began August 12 with old family photographs captioned “FOMO 2026,” before a CD jewel-case image spelled out Fear of Missing Out.

The new statement also turned its personal appeal into Drake’s response to anxiety about Hip-Hop’s place in the current media economy.

“They keep saying our genre is dying Videos don’t matter Nobody is watching nobody is listening still care. As much as did As much as I did on the set of Best Ever Had.”

That 2009 video was directed by Kanye West, linking Drake’s present work ethic to one of his earliest major visuals.

Drake has not announced the film’s runtime or released a full cast list before the September 15 broadcast.
