Drake‘s team says he is not the father of Keshia Chanté’s baby, rejecting the rumors in a statement to TMZ.
Chanté shared news of her first pregnancy Tuesday on Instagram but kept the father’s name private. The singer once co-hosted BET’s 106 & Park with Bow Wow and has known Drake since their younger years.
“Oh, and we’ve already got you booked & busy,” she wrote. “Dada’s got your studio locked and we expect your album to drop summer 2027.”
Drake has one publicly confirmed child, Adonis Graham, born October 11, 2017, whom he shares with French artist Sophie Brussaux. The boy turns nine this week, years after his name became part of a rap fight he never chose.
Pusha-T brought Adonis into the feud in May 2018 with “The Story of Adidon,” accusing Drake of being a deadbeat. He named Drake’s son and the boy’s mother while charging that the star had kept his child a secret.
For Drake, a rival had made his son’s birth part of a diss track meant to wound him.
Drake acknowledged fatherhood on Scorpion the next month but pushed back on claims he had hidden his son. On “Emotionless,” he said he sought to shield the boy from the world, rather than keep the world from knowing him.
His public life with Adonis has since shown a devoted father who celebrates the boy’s interests and encourages his creative pursuits.
Drake took his son onstage at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards when he won Artist of the Decade. He has brought Adonis to Raptors games, shared the boy’s art and given his son space to make music.
Adonis drew the cover art for For All the Dogs, and Drake joined him in his “My Man Freestyle” video. Drake also cheered as his son took the stage to rap the track at his sixth birthday party.
Apparently, that is where his fatherly duties end, according to his rep’s denial of Chanté’s pregnancy.
