Eminem Stays On Kid Rock Album As Lil Wayne Takes Over “7 Sins”

Eminem kept his spot on Kid Rock’s gospel album as Lil Wayne took over “7 Sins,” the song at the center of a clash over the Detroit stars’ politics.

Kid Rock shared the change on October 14, then posted a new tracklist for Halfway 2 Jesus. The image listed Lil Wayne on the third song, “7 Sins,” and Eminem on the fifth, “Heal My Faith.”

Kid Rock used a new video to address fans who didn’t want him to work with Eminem. He first teased that those critics might be glad to hear Eminem was off “7 Sins.”

He then named Lil Wayne as the new guest before sharing the other half of the news

“Eminem is still on the album. He’s just on another song now, called ‘Heal My Faith,'” Kid Rock said.

Kid Rock’s ties to Eminem went back long before this record. AllHipHop’s earlier report noted Eminem’s guest spot on “F#ck Off” from Kid Rock’s 1998 album Devil Without A Cause. Kid Rock later appeared in Eminem’s “Berzerk” video.

The first look at “7 Sins” had brought that friendship into a fresh debate.

On October 5, critics criticized Eminem’s choice to work with Kid Rock, who backed Donald Trump. Eminem had appeared at a Kamala Harris campaign rally in Detroit in 2024, putting the pair on opposite sides of that race.

Kid Rock told Fox News earlier this month that he and Eminem had agreed to keep politics from dividing their friendship.

In the new video, Kid Rock again stood by his choice to work with people who held different views.

He said the guests, musicians, songwriters and engineers who made the album did not all think alike. He framed that right to hold different views as part of what made the country great.

Halfway 2 Jesus was scheduled to arrive on October 17, the date in Kid Rock’s X announcement.
