EXCLUSIVE: Big U Case: Feds Cite Vandalized Witness Home & “Rat” Graffiti As Reason So Speed Up Trial

Big U faces a prosecution warning about witness safety after a cooperator’s home was burglarized and vandalized with “rat” graffiti.
Federal prosecutors described the attack in their October 26 opposition to moving the case from February 16 to October 19, 2027. The home attack had already been cited in April, and prosecutors raised it again to explain their concerns about witness safety.
Prosecutors wrote: “That exposure is not hypothetical. One cooperating witness’s identity has been spread on social media, and his home was vandalized, burglarized, and spray-painted with the word ‘rat.'”
The passage did not identify whoever damaged or entered the home, and it did not accuse Big U of committing that attack.
Prosecutors also invoked the witness-related charges added this summer against the music executive, whose legal name is Eugene Henley Jr.
“[Big U] is now charged with soliciting and attempting to tamper with a witness while detained — conduct alleged to have occurred on and before June 10, 2026, less than three months after the government served its witness and exhibit lists and less than two months after the Court granted the trial continuance.”
Authorities alleged Big U offered two inmates payment to hurt or kill someone identified as Victim-1 and requested that person’s housing layout.
Big U pleaded not guilty in August. The broader racketeering prosecution included allegations involving extortion, his music business and the Developing Options charity.
His lawyers, appointed September 25, sought additional preparation time for extensive evidence and the newer charges, according to the opposition.
The government also cited the burden on a material witness, a person whose testimony the court seeks to secure:
“At least one material witness has lived and will continue to live under court-ordered conditions since April 2026. He, like any other material witness, is not accused of anything. The material witness statute contemplates that such witnesses will be held only as long as necessary to secure their testimony.”
The opposition also asked the court to establish Big U’s own position on any further postponement.
Prosecutors said their planned roster of roughly 50 witnesses included at least one person who would need to travel internationally.
