Daniel Caesar canceled seven arena shows in Australia and Hawaii for health reasons. His first Australian arena tour had been due to start just days later.
“Unfortunately the Son of Spergy Australia and Hawaii shows are cancelled until further notice, due to health reasons,” Caesar wrote on Instagram Stories.
His statement did not name a health condition or offer new dates and fans were not happy.
“How disappointing you literally waited till the last second to cancel ur show I’m like very disappointed I’m not speaking for myself but I’m speaking for everyone that was looking forward to seeing you. If you gave further notice that would’ve been really appreciated but this is really disappointing getting our hopes up for nothing absolutely nothing,” one fans said.
The Australian run included Sydney’s Afterpay Arena on November 5 and 6. Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena had shows set for November 8 and 9. Brisbane Entertainment Centre was due to host him on November 12.
Two Honolulu concerts at Neal S. Blaisdell Arena on November 14 and 15 were also canceled.
The run had been announced in August. Caesar last toured Australia in 2023, playing venues including the Sydney Opera House Forecourt and Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl. The dates were part of the tour behind his fourth album, Son of Spergy, released in October 2025.
Caesar had also withdrawn from Johns Hopkins University’s Hoptoberfest, where Cardi B stepped in as headliner. That withdrawal was attributed to unforeseen circumstances.
The university show was moved from October 31 to November 1, when Cardi performed. Caesar announced the booking on October 19 and tickets sold out on October 21, with hundreds of students joining the waitlist. Existing tickets remained valid for the replacement show.
The Ticketek notice for Sydney told buyers how they would get their money back. “All tickets purchased (including refundable ticket purchases, if relevant) will be automatically refunded in full to the original payment method used,” the notice said.
Ticketek said most refunds should take five business days, though some could take up to 20. Customers who paid through an agency or with a gift voucher must provide bank details through Ticketek’s official page by November 17.
In Hawaii, Ticketmaster listed both Honolulu dates as canceled. Its November 15 event notice said it would process refunds after receiving funds from the organizer, with a 14-to-21-day window. “If the tickets were transferred to you, the refund will go to the fan who originally purchased the tickets from Ticketmaster,” Ticketmaster added.
“This trash did the same thing 3 years ago how shameful you are,” one angry commenter fumed. Another wrote: “Don’t do this to me man, I’ll pay the emergency bills 💔💔.”
