Flyysoulja Jailed Over $75.45 Walgreens Theft After Overdose

Flyysoulja was arrested in Broward County on November 2 over a $75.45 Walgreens theft police said happened in March.

The Island Boys rapper, whose legal name is Alex Venegas, faced a petty theft charge, Local 10 reported, citing jail records and a Hallandale Beach police report. He had posted bond but was still at Broward County Main Jail as of Tuesday morning, November 3, the station reported.

Police placed the alleged theft on March 20 at the Walgreens on West Hallandale Beach Boulevard. They said video showed him hiding goods in his pants, checking for staff and leaving without paying. The report said he left in a black 2021 BMW. A store manager listed Aquaphor, therapy cream, a razor, Vaseline and lotion.

A witness recognized him from the Island Boys and identified him through a photo, according to the report. Police later obtained an arrest warrant.

Florida’s theft law looks at both value and intent. It covers knowingly taking or using someone else’s property with the aim of depriving its owner of it, even temporarily.

For ordinary property-value cases, Florida classifies theft of goods worth $100 to less than $750 as first-degree petit theft. Grand theft generally starts at $750. The law also sets exceptions for certain property and locations, and prior theft convictions can raise the offense level.

Flyysoulja and twin brother Kodiyakredd reached a mass online audience in 2021 through their poolside video. They turned that viral moment into a recorded song and a music video. Their move from social media to live shows included a booking at Miami’s Club LIV, where the crowd booed their performance.

Separately, Flyysoulja told TMZ he overdosed October 29 and left the hospital November 2.

He had previously discussed his substance use on Instagram Live in November 2025, after a three-day stay at a Miami-area mental health facility.

He said pills had led to an episode in which he damaged his home while broadcasting without realizing it.

“In the psychosis, I was trying to find something for my hair for hours, and destroyed the home while unknowingly being on Live,” he said in that 2025 account.
