Foogiano Disses Gucci Mane On New Song “The Misunderstood Truth”
Originally published by AllHipHop Read the original
Foogiano has some serious unfinished business with Gucci Mane. His latest diss record has the former 1017 Records detailing how his relationship has deteriorated into something way more serious than we realized. Yikes.
The Georgia rapper has released “The Misunderstood Truth,” a sneak attack on his former boss. I don’t think they will ever be cool again.
Foogiano won’t be sending any Christmas cards to Gucci this year.
The video features the destruction of 1017 chains and other digital images. Oddly, those images helped introduce Foogiano to a wider audience.
The accusations are not simple.
Foogiano questions Gucci’s loyalty and raises grievances over money and the treatment of artists associated with the label. He also revisits allegations involving cooperation with law enforcement aka snitching.
Gucci has been celebrated for discovering and supporting emerging Southern rap talent. It has been a rough ride. His label has also experienced a lot of turmoil. We know that had him in the craziest situation with Pooh Shiesty.
Foogiano signed with Gucci’s 1017 imprint during an important period in his career, but his subsequent incarceration complicated that. Now he’s back.
Is Foogiano simply expressing longstanding frustration through music, or is there a deeper business disagreement that has yet to become public? I do not know!
And Gucci has not responded to this latest record.
This is not the last chapter.
Will Gucci Mane answer with music, a statement or nothing?
Sometimes silence is the best statement.
