Funkmaster Flex May Have Another Trick Up His Sleeve After MSG Chaos

Funkmaster Flex may have discovered a legal loophole in his increasingly contentious dispute with former Hot 97 colleague TT Torrez and her husband, Shadow Stokes. Or maybe he’s just having a little fun with the situation. Either way, the lawyers are circling.

Remember, this controversy erupted at Madison Square Garden during the New York Knicks’ season opener. Shadow allegedly pursued Flex aggressively inside the Delta lounge, prompting security personnel to intervene. Video footage captured the commotion, but the circumstances leading up to it remain disputed.

The confrontation stems from an earlier incident involving TT Torrez, who has accused Flex of violently shoving her. That’s a serious allegation, particularly considering their lengthy and reportedly strained history as former colleagues at Hot 97.

Now, Flex seems to be turning (trying at least) the legal conversation in another direction.

Flex has consulted legal counsel about his options following the MSG encounter and they made a joint post to double down. One hypothetical scenario involves whether he could have suffered an injury while retreating from Shadow’s alleged aggression.

If someone aggressively pursues you and you hurt yourself trying to escape, could that create grounds for a lawsuit? Apparently, that’s one of the questions being floated. Whether this holds up in court is another matter.

The lawyer appearing with Flex in a video who has indicated he’s ready to represent him. However, the attorney’s enthusiasm comes with an interesting caveat. His declaration in the comments included a laughing emoji. Hmmmm…always entertaining.

My interpretation? Flex might be sending a message without necessarily intending to file anything. He’s possibly mudding the narrative surrounding Torrez’s allegations. Maybe.

Of course, a hypothetical injury is not proof of an actual injury. So, there’s that. He’d have to prove that.

Meanwhile, Shadow has remained quiet since going ham defending his wife. And wife TT Torrez has not issued another statement since the initial press release.

Could this become an actual courtroom showdown? Perhaps. But I suspect we’re witnessing a little psychological chess disguised as legal strategy.

For now, everybody seems to be keeping their attorneys close and their next moves closer.
