Gervonta Davis Settles Civil Lawsuit Over Strip Club Allegations

Gervonta “Tank” Davis has settled the civil lawsuit filed by his former girlfriend over an alleged October 2025 confrontation at a Miami Gardens strip club.

Courtney Rossel voluntarily dismissed all of her claims with prejudice Thursday in Miami-Dade County. Her attorney, Richard Wolfe, confirmed the settlement to USA Today and said the “terms of the settlement are confidential.”

The dismissal prevents Rossel from refiling the same civil claims.

Rossel sued Davis on October 30, 2025, three days after the alleged encounter at Tootsie’s Cabaret.

She accused him of battery, aggravated battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping and intentional infliction of emotional distress. Rossel said she was working as a VIP cocktail waitress when Davis grabbed her and forced her through the club toward a parking area.

Her complaint sought compensatory and punitive damages along with a jury trial. The November 5 dismissal notice ended those civil claims before a trial, and the court filing did not disclose a payment figure or describe any other part of the agreement.

The allegations also brought a criminal investigation. Miami Gardens police obtained a warrant in January, and Davis was arrested later that month after a two-week search involving the U.S. Marshals Service.

He was released on bond and ordered to stay away from Rossel while the case moved forward.

The lawsuit put a major interruption into Davis’ boxing career. A planned exhibition fight with Jake Paul was canceled after the allegations surfaced.

Davis has not fought since his March 2025 majority draw with Lamont Roach Jr., and the WBA stripped him of its lightweight title in June after a mandatory bout did not happen.

The settlement closes Rossel’s civil case, while the criminal prosecution tied to the same alleged incident remains active. Davis still faces battery and kidnapping charges in Florida.

His next criminal status hearing is scheduled for November 17.

Prosecutors dropped a false-imprisonment charge in March after determining it overlapped with the kidnapping count. Davis previously entered not-guilty pleas in the pending case.

The court record did not disclose the civil settlement amount or other terms. Davis’ lawyer did not respond to the main report’s request for comment.
