GloRilla Fires Back At Fans Rejecting Sexyy Red’s “Jiggly Bow Bow”

GloRilla is refusing to put “Jiggly Bow Bow” back in the vault, AND she’s doubling down.
The Memphis rapper’s upcoming collaboration with Sexyy Red was set to arrive on Friday, November 6, but some listeners have already heard enough from the preview. Apparently, the comment section wants some say so in what Glo drops musically.
A Twitter user (still not calling it X) responded to the teaser with a most courteous rejection: “We kindly told y’all to keep this.”
Well! At least somebody remembered their manners before throwing shade.
Glo wasn’t accepting the suggestion. “And I’m kindly saying f*ck y’all, I do what I want,” she said back.
That should clear up any confusion.
Some of the criticism centers on expectations. Pockets of Glo’s audience believe she should be making something beyond this particular type of record. They hear the preview and want more from her. I do not think that Kirk Franklin song helped either.
I can understand wanting an artist you enjoy to stretch. When you believe somebody has considerable talent, a perceived regression sucks.
Here’s a plot twist. Ya’ll, I can tell you that Glo dropped the dag on song early.
Now, that is how you buck back.
Let’s not get too new here. There is also some selective memory involved in treating this pairing like a bizarre experiment. GloRilla and Sexyy Red previously connected on “WHATCHU KNO ABOUT ME” and appeared together on Tyler, The Creator’s “Sticky.” These women already have a musical relationship.
My question is whether the objection is really the song, the repetition, or what listeners think Glo should become next. Those are different conversations, even when everybody squeezes them into the same irritated reply.
For now, a preview has inspired a verdict before the full record’s scheduled arrival.
Will the critics stand firm Friday? Or will a few people quietly develop an uncontrollable shoulder bounce?
I suggest keeping those receipts somewhere accessible.
