Gunna Leaves YSL & Starts His Own Label

Gunna is taking the boss seat with SB THE LABEL and putting three Atlanta artists on his first roster.

The rapper announced the venture Friday, October 9, with Atlantic Music Group backing the company and Gunna serving as CEO. Casper Bluff, Nechie and Dracc are the first acts signed to the label as Gunna starts building beyond his own music.

“SB the Label represents the beginning of a new chapter for me,” Gunna said in a statement announcing the launch.

He described the three signees as his brothers and said the venture gives him room to grow in a new role. The lineup includes Nechie, who has already worked with Gunna, and Dracc, whose music includes the track “P Star.”

Gunna paired the business announcement with “pop it,” giving the label launch a new song and a video featuring Coco Gauff. Spike Jordan directed the visual, which brings the tennis star onto the court with Gunna and includes the label’s new signees.

The song also gives listeners a taste of Splurge, the next album Gunna has been discussing as his music career moves forward.

Atlantic’s involvement keeps familiar music executives in Gunna’s corner as he takes charge of a company that carries his vision.

Rayna Bass and Selim Bouab praised his growth as an artist and executive in their joint statement about the partnership. The pair lead Hip-Hop, R&B and global music for 300 Entertainment and Atlantic Music Group, which are backing the venture.

“We’re grateful and honored that he’s chosen AMG as his partner to bring this endeavor to music fans,” Atlantic chief Elliot Grainge said.

The launch follows The Last Wun, Gunna’s 25-track album released in August 2025 amid questions about his future at YSL Records. That project featured Offset, Wizkid and Burna Boy while Gunna’s strained ties with Young Thug drew attention alongside the music.

He has also been building outside music through Under Armour, which named him a global brand ambassador and P-Star creative director.

That platform covers clothing, footwear and community projects, adding another business role before Gunna announced he was moving into running a label.

Gunna has teased Splurge as his next studio album, but he has yet to announce a firm release date.
