News Americas, NEW YORK, NY, Fri. Sept. 11, 2026: Guyana Amazon Warriors have climbed to first place on the CPL 2026 points table, overtaking Antigua & Barbuda Falcons after a dominant run through their home stretch at Providence Stadium.
Guyana now sits atop the standings with 14 points from eight matches, seven wins and just one loss, and the best net run rate in the tournament at +1.029. The Falcons hold second with 13 points from 10 matches. Jamaica Kingsmen, Barbados Tridents and St. Lucia Kings are tied on 8 points apiece, while St. Kitts & Nevis Patriots sit sixth with 7 and Trinbago Knight Riders round out the table with 6.
A near-perfect home stretch
Guyana’s surge has been fueled by consecutive wins at Providence Stadium: an eight-wicket win over Jamaica Kingsmen, a seven-wicket win over St. Kitts & Nevis Patriots, and a four-wicket win over St. Lucia Kings, sandwiched around their lone home defeat, a 65-run loss to Antigua & Barbuda Falcons. Guyana’s only other loss all tournament came in a close nine-run win over Trinbago Knight Riders under the DLS method in late August, a result that actually favored Guyana despite the tight margin.
