Icewear Vezzo is expanding his Detroit business portfolio after announcing that he and business partner Prevail now own the entire building that houses The Shadow Gallery in Eastern Market.
The deal goes beyond taking a stake in the venue’s operation. Vezzo and Prevail said their ownership covers the full property, which contains several entertainment and event spaces at 1533 Winder Street. No purchase price or financing terms were disclosed with the announcement.
The Shadow Gallery describes itself as an “entertainment complex” with a lounge, rooftop patio, art gallery, live music venue and event space. Its first floor also includes AWAREHOUSE, a concert and event hub, along with a lobby used for rotating pop-up concepts.
The venue says its upstairs gallery carries rotating contemporary art from local and international artists, while AWAREHOUSE handles live shows and private events. The lobby connects the two spaces and has hosted pop-up concepts. That gives the new owners several possible revenue streams under one roof without depending on a single room or event format.
That mix gives the partners a property with several possible uses inside one of Detroit’s best-known commercial districts. The announcement did not include a redevelopment timeline or explain whether the venue’s current programming will change.
For Vezzo, the purchase continues a run of investments tied closely to Detroit. In December 2025, he and fellow rapper Peezy became the first franchise partners in House of Dank’s history at a store on Gratiot Avenue.
“This isn’t a promotion – this is real ownership,” Vezzo said when that partnership was announced. He described the store as a chance to invest in the East Side neighborhood where he grew up.
The rapper has also put money into housing and community work. In September, Vezzo showed several east-side homes he had purchased for young people aging out of foster care and people recovering from addiction.
“Our job is to show them what love is and what a home is,” he said during the neighborhood tour. Vezzo added that he hoped to extend the project across more of the block.
The Shadow Gallery acquisition moves that ownership strategy into Eastern Market and adds a multi-use commercial property to Vezzo’s growing collection of Detroit investments.
