A South Florida man accused of posing as Sexyy Red’s manager is back in custody after Hialeah police charged him in a new sexual battery case.
Vladimir Jean-Joseph, 43, faces sexual battery and false imprisonment charges tied to an alleged Halloween weekend attack.
Local 10 News reported that the accuser, an Orlando woman, told detectives she met Jean-Joseph at a club in May. She said he introduced himself as “the manager for rapper Sexyy Red.”
Police said the two stayed in touch. According to the arrest report, Jean-Joseph later offered the woman and her friends a free place to stay while they visited South Florida. The woman returned alone to the Hialeah apartment after a night out in Miami Beach and went to sleep.
Investigators said Jean-Joseph entered her bedroom without permission, got into bed and began touching her. The woman told police she rejected his advances, but he allegedly sexually assaulted her and tried to force her to perform oral sex.
A friend took the woman to HCA Florida JFK Hospital, where medical staff completed a sexual assault examination. Detectives arrested Jean-Joseph on Lincoln Road in Miami Beach days later.
The accusation follows a separate 2024 case involving the same alleged false claim about the St. Louis rapper. In that case, a woman told Miami Gardens police that Jean-Joseph approached her after a Sexyy Red event, called himself “Alexander Beamer,” and claimed to represent the artist.
Sexyy Red’s spokesperson was direct at the time: “Vladimir Joseph is not her manager.”
AllHipHop reported in 2024 that police accused Jean-Joseph of taking the woman to his home, threatening her with a gun, forcing her to ingest cocaine and sexually assaulting her.
Prosecutors dropped those charges two months later. The reason was not immediately available, and the station said it requested records explaining the decision.
The current charges pertain to one woman. A second woman also alleged an assault, according to the new arrest report, but police said she had not met with detectives to give a statement.
Jean-Joseph was already free on bond in a separate case involving allegations of resisting arrest and battery on a law enforcement officer. Jail records cited by Local 10 showed him held at the Metrowest Detention Center after the latest arrest.
