French Montana may have just gotten the kind of congratulations you definitely do not want broadcast through a live microphone.

Are we about to get a little French prince or princess?

French was sitting with streamer N3on at a New York Fashion Week event on September 14 when an unidentified woman apparently forgot one very important detail. The man was mic’d up. She casually congratulated French and created a whole new rumor in approximately five seconds.

“I’m so happy for you,” she said.

French responded, “For real? Why?”

And then came the sentence that changed everything.

“Because of the baby.”

WHOOPS!

French reportedly put his finger up in a hushing motion, but his friend apparently thought they were safely having a private conversation.

“Nobody hears me,” she said.

French then pointed directly at the lapel microphone attached to his jacket. The woman covered her mouth after realizing exactly what had happened.

That reaction is what makes this particularly interesting. French did not verbally confirm anything, but he certainly appeared interested in ending that conversation quickly.

Now everybody is wondering whether French and his fiancée, Dubai royal Sheikha Mahra b### Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, are preparing to expand their family.

Before anybody starts shopping for baby-sized designer clothes, there is an important distinction here. Neither French nor Sheikha Mahra has publicly confirmed a pregnancy as of September 15. This remains a rumor created by a very unfortunate hot mic moment.

French and Mahra have already turned their romance into one of Hip-Hop’s more unexpected love stories. Their relationship rumors surfaced in 2024, and French has since publicly discussed how a mutual friend connected them in Dubai. The couple later became engaged, with French revealing that considerable thought went into selecting a unique engagement ring for his royal bride-to-be.
