Jacquees Still In Jail, Reasons For Arrest Revealed

Jacquees remained behind bars Monday even after a Florida judge granted the R&B singer bond following an arrest that allegedly began with him passed out inside a vehicle.

The 32-year-old singer appeared in Broward County bond court Sept. 28 and received a total bond of $3,500, according to local WSVN 7News.

Jacquees remained listed in custody at the time of this writing, adding to the news that AllHipHop first reported Sunday.

Hollywood Police have also revealed new details about what allegedly happened before Jacquees landed in Broward County’s Main Jail.

Officers responded shortly before 8 a.m. Sunday to a report of a person passed out inside a vehicle near North 62nd Avenue and Hollywood Boulevard, according to police accounts.

Authorities identified the person as Jacquees.

Police maintain the situation escalated as first responders attempted to take the singer to a hospital. Authorities said Jacquees became combative during the process.

The singer was subsequently arrested and booked on three charges: DUI involving alcohol or drugs as a first offense, battery on an officer, firefighter or emergency medical technician and resisting an officer without violence.

The bond ruling does not mean a defendant walks out of jail immediately. Broward County authorities must complete the release process after applicable bond and court requirements are satisfied.

Jacquees s likely to be released soon. The R&B singer has had previous encounters with law enforcement. Some within the AllHipHop community confused the latest arrested with past encounters.

He was arrested in Miami Beach in 2018 following a traffic stop and arrested again that year in Atlanta after police accused him of driving 116 mph.

In 2023, Jacquees was arrested in Gwinnett County, Georgia, following an altercation at a bar near the Mall of Georgia. Authorities charged him with simple battery and obstruction after a woman accused him of choking and biting her. Police alleged he attempted to flee before an officer used a stun gun. He was later released on $3,700 bond.

Those previous incidents are separate from the current Florida case.
