Jamie Foxx Says LeBron Was Too “Beige” To Stay In Lightskinned L.A.

Jamie Foxx is bringing the heat to his new Hulu special with some pointed jokes about LeBron James and his move to Philadelphia, and the comedian’s already giving the NBA star a heads-up about what’s coming.

The special, “Take Care of Yourself,” drops Wednesday on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+, and Foxx’s been pretty clear that nobody’s safe from his material, especially not the King.

Foxx revealed he actually called LeBron to talk about the move to Philly, and he didn’t hold back on his thoughts about why the Lakers weren’t the right fit anymore.

“The look was off in L.A.,” Foxx explained, adding that Los Angeles has always been more about aesthetics and image than substance.

“L.A. is a little more light skinned. L.A. was too beige for Bron,” he said, making it clear that the city’s vibe just wasn’t matching LeBron’s energy or skin complexion anymore.

The comedian even brought Shaq into the conversation, recalling how the big man used to complain about wanting out of Los Angeles.

“I said, ‘Because L.A. likes pretty people,'” Foxx joked, highlighting how the city has always prioritized a certain type of star over raw talent and dominance.

LeBron’s time with the Lakers spanned years of ups and downs, from championship hopes to playoff disappointments, but his move to Philadelphia represents a fresh start with a new contender.

LeBron’s transition to the 76ers came after the Lakers struggled to build a consistent championship roster around him.

The team had invested heavily in stars like Anthony Davis, but injuries and roster construction issues kept them from reaching the Finals.

Now in Philadelphia, LeBron joins forces with Tyrese Maxey, Joel Embiid, and Jaylen Brown on a veteran’s minimum deal, signaling his willingness to take less money for a real shot at another ring.

Foxx’s special also touches on his own journey back to comedy after his health scare, and he’s being careful about what material makes the cut.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the comedian had to cut some jokes after the Kevin Hart roast backlash earlier this year, when people took issue with certain punchlines.

But he’s still bringing the laughs about getting older, watching his heroes age, and the absurdity of celebrities doing commercials for things like adult diapers.

The special marks Foxx’s return to stand-up with a different energy than his last Netflix special, which came just a year after he suffered a stroke.

This time around, he’s more confident, more energized, and ready to roast everyone from Kim Kardashian to Donald Trump.

Jamie Foxx’s comedy career has always been about pushing boundaries, and this special proves he’s not slowing down anytime soon.

“Take Care of Yourself” premieres October 7 on Hulu, and Variety reports that Foxx’s dancing and aging jokes are already getting buzz from early viewers.
