Jay-Z & Roc Nation Step Up For 3-Year-Old Soccer Star After Police Called

Jay-Z and Roc Nation Sports are reportedly sending 3-year-old soccer sensation Nevada Pierre to Spain after a controversial youth soccer dispute in Florida brought police to the field and turned the toddler into a national sensation.

What began as an ugly disagreement at a recreational soccer game could now open international doors for the unusually talented youngster.

According to Loren LoRosa of “The Breakfast Club,” Jay-Z and Roc Nation Sports have committed to sending Nevada to Spain in December 2026 for an athletic experience intended to encourage his development. The reported offer marks an extraordinary reversal for Nevada, whose family found itself confronting police just days earlier over a dispute involving his participation in a children’s soccer league.

On Oct. 24, officers responded to Martin Luther King Jr. Park in Winter Park, Florida, after an official with i9 Sports requested assistance following a confrontation involving Nevada’s parents, Martasia Griffin and Don Pierre.

The parents alleged their son was being penalized because he was simply too skilled for the competition, which included children older than him.

Videos circulating online showed Nevada maneuvering around opponents and scoring goals with remarkable confidence for a child his age.

However, league officials offered a different account.

An official acknowledged Nevada’s advanced abilities but alleged he had pushed other children during the game. The official also accused his parents of disruptive behavior following disagreements about playing time.

The Winter Park Police Department subsequently clarified that officers responded to a dispute involving adults rather than the child’s athletic abilities. No arrests were made and authorities classified the situation as a civil matter. Yahoo Sports+1

The disagreement nevertheless ignited a national conversation about how youth sports programs accommodate unusually talented children and how conflicts between parents and administrators should be handled.

Former U.S. national soccer player Eddie Johnson also entered the picture, offering to train Nevada through his EJE7 Soccer Academy in Orlando.

Johnson criticized what he described as longstanding barriers within youth soccer, particularly for children of color.

“We should be praising a three year old with his ability instead of tarnishing it,” Johnson wrote on social media. Dayton’s BIN 1340

Meanwhile, Nevada’s family established a GoFundMe campaign to help cover training, equipment, registration and travel expenses.

Griffin told Orlando television station WKMG that the campaign had raised more than $40,000 as support poured in from people following her son’s experience. WKMG

The attention has also taken an emotional toll. Griffin said Nevada was frightened by the police encounter and worried about being removed from another soccer program.

Now, with Roc Nation Sports reportedly preparing an overseas opportunity and Johnson offering professional guidance, Nevada’s future looks considerably different from the uncertain scene that unfolded on that Florida field.
