Jay-Z Vindicated After Accuser Admits She Fabricated Entire Rape Accusation

Jay-Z just got the ultimate legal victory after the woman who accused him of rape completely recanted her allegations in a stunning 12-page declaration filed in Manhattan federal court yesterday.

The accuser, identified as Jane Doe, stated unequivocally that she’s never met the rapper and that he had nothing to do with any sexual misconduct.

“Shawn ‘Jay-Z’ Carter never raped me. I have never met or spoken to Mr. Carter. Mr. Carter never engaged in any inappropriate conduct toward me whatsoever,” she wrote in the filing, adding that there’s “no truth to any of my claims against Mr. Carter.”

The woman acknowledged the damage her false accusations caused, writing that she understands her allegations have inflicted “immense pain, suffering, and damage that can never be fully undone” on the music mogul and his family.

Her new attorney, James Blair Newman Jr., confirmed that while his client maintains she was victimized by sexual assault, she was “entirely mistaken in her allegations identifying Mr. Carter.”

Newman added that Doe “sincerely and unconditionally apologises to Mr. Carter and his family.”

The original lawsuit was filed in October 2024 against Sean “Diddy” Combs, with an amended complaint in December 2024 naming Jay-Z as a second defendant.

The allegations claimed both men sexually assaulted Doe at an after-party following the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards. She voluntarily withdrew the case with prejudice in February 2025, meaning it couldn’t be refiled.

Doe claimed she first responded to a Facebook advertisement seeking sexual assault allegations against Combs in autumn 2024.

In March 2025, a recording surfaced where Doe was heard telling private investigators that Carter “didn’t have anything” to do with the alleged sexual acts and that her lawyer Tony Buzbee had “pushed” her toward including him in the lawsuit.

At that time, she maintained she still stood by her claims, but the new declaration represents a complete reversal.

Jay-Z previously broke silence about the trauma, telling GQ magazine in April 2026 that the experience left him “heartbroken” and experiencing “uncontrollable rage.”

The rapper’s legal team has been aggressive in pursuing defamation claims against Doe and her attorneys, with ABC News reporting that Jay-Z’s attorney Alex Spiro stated the accuser’s new declaration should leave no doubt about his client’s innocence.

Doe’s recantation comes as Jay-Z continues his separate lawsuit against her legal team, seeking damages for the estimated $20 million in lost contracts and business deals that resulted from the false allegations.

Buzbee has denied wrongdoing throughout the process, maintaining that his firm believed Doe’s allegations when pursuing the case and that he never pressured her to name Jay-Z.

The attorney disputed Doe’s latest claims, asserting that multiple lawyers had spoken with her before he became involved and that she provided the same account to all of them.

The case now moves forward with Jay-Z’s defamation lawsuit still pending against Doe and her legal representatives.
